This was the beginning of the clay model I produced. It was designed to be one of the main enemies of my game. We then coated it in latex to form a mould.
We then proceeded to fill the mould with plaster of paris which we left to dry.
The ratio for the mixture was 2:1 plaster:water.
We wore disposable aprons to prevent any of the mixture getting onto our clothes.
it was very easy to remove the clay and fill the mould with plaster.
The hardest part for me was waiting two weeks for the the latex to dry out.

Final 2D concept piece
This painting is my final concept and finished design for my platform game background. the platforms extend between the decks and will move about the pipes meaning you have access to alot of areas in the level.

Sketch and final Photoshop piece
This sketch here was the very basic design for my level. it takes place in the cargo bay area that is close to the main boss. In this image I have included some of the basic game mechanics, including the character, the enemy, a pick up box and a hackable mech.
The reason I chose to use a dark blue background is because the lighting in this part of the level is going to be very dark and dismal to try and set the mood for the final fight. i have also gone with the greys to symbolise a very industrial/militarised feel.
